The simplification of EU funding procedures and faster implementation of Operational Programmes has developed to be a relatively controversial topic. On the one hand improvements will be achieved by making requirements clearer and processes more transparent. On the other hand the introduction of new requirements or changes of procedures will also entail a restructuring and reorganisation of processes which by now – although complicated – might actually be working well. The question remains, how can simplification really simplify procedures and ease the administrative burden on all parties involved? More information
